Heraldry Jewelry – proudly worn in War and Peace
Heraldic jewelry were worn with pride and dignity for more than a thousand years. In the distant but fascinating Middle Ages, nobles and knights who were about to engage in battle would adorn their armor and shields with their heraldic coats of arms or badges. Their use of graphic devices heraldric this way served a very practice, and in fact the main goal during the heat of battle: the quick and easy identification of friends and enemies. Without using a type of graphics device Highly visible, it was very difficult for a warrior, identify allies and enemies, even at short distance as their faces were always hidden under helmets armor. Heraldic devices were also used for identification during tournaments and jousting medieval.
The development of heraldic jewelry was a natural and foreseeable consequence of the use of devices like a heraldric through identification with the war. Even in peacetime, many knights and nobles soon began to decorate some of their other possessions with their devices or badges, including personal jewelry such as rings and cuffs. Although the evolution of jewelry heraldric probably occurred as a result of personal vanity or pride, it had its practical purposes as well.
Although now mostly (and rightly) regarded as beautiful pieces of jewelry in their own right, some specific types of jewelry heraldric were created for practical reasons. For example, a signet ring during the Middle Ages as a lord was engraved with the appropriate heraldic emblem or coat of arms on the surface of the upper ring. The image was designed in reverse (like a mirror image), so that when the upper ring was deep in that hot wax was dripping on the closure of a letter or a document, it has created a wax image of the crest or coat of arms. Once fully cooled, the image of wax paper, sealed shut, and thus provided greater privacy. And because the owner of the ring was the purported sender of the letter or document author, a document sealed with a signet ring bearing a heraldic emblem or coat weapons were used to identify the author and assured of the authenticity of the document.

Although the need to guarantee the authenticity of the way is long gone, some people signet still use to identify themselves even today. People who use the rings, seal rings for documents, and those who wear them as jewelry purely heraldic appreciate their heraldic rings as a symbolic link to their past and their family history.
In countries where the noble class still exists, the heraldry jewelry can also be a status symbol, which serves as an instant identifier of level of the wearer society.Even today, a beautiful piece of heraldic jewelry is a unique gift especially to a man or a woman of achievement high or high social status.
Signet rings, seals, badges and pins, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, bracelets style, tie pins / TAC and key rings – all can be decorated beautifully carved or engraved family crests, shields or coats of arms. They are often made of precious metals like gold, silver or platinum. Pieces of high quality have a nice design with intricate details, and bright colors if they were precious stones or enamel.
Although often worn only for its beauty, jewelry heraldic became extremely popular not only because of its appearance, but also because of the sense of history and pageantry of the medieval world it evokes. Colorful, elegant heraldic jewelry is perfect for commemorating an important event in the life of a person such as a diploma or reach the age of majority – the "coming of age." When presented to the winner in such an event, heraldic jewelry infused in the donor and the recipient a sense of history and the continuation of the family patrimony. But remember, it should not be purpose behind wearing jewelry heraldric. Although based in history, it is beautiful in its own right and can be worn with pride and dignity So far, just as it was a thousand years ago.
